About Us


We are the African NGOs Alliance for Environmental Sustainability (ANAES), a collaborative effort dedicated to addressing socio-economic and environmental challenges in Africa. Our roots trace back to the Albertine Rift Conservation Society (ARCOS) in collaboration with Circular Bioeconomy Alliance (CBA)and a coalition of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) committed to environmental sustainability and community well-being across the continent.

Our Story


ANAES emerged from the realization that addressing Africa's environmental challenges requires collective efforts. ANAES, was officially emerged on October 20, 2023, marking a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts dedicated to addressing socio-economic and environmental challenges in Africa. 

In its inception, ANAES has quickly become a focal point for collective action, pooling the expertise, resources, and networks of organizations with the shared mission of fostering collaboration and building institutional leadership. The official inauguration of ANAES represents a commitment to addressing the pressing environmental challenges faced by Africa, including biodiversity loss, climate change impact, and community development.


The journey of ANAES is characterized by a spirit of unity, innovation, and the recognition that working together is essential to achieve sustainable development and preserve Africa's natural heritage. The official establishment of ANAES has set the stage for a new chapter in the environmental conservation narrative, marked by collaborative initiatives and a shared vision for a thriving and sustainable Africa.
